Interesting fact of the week! Asphalt shingles were invented in the United States around 1900 by roofing contractor Henry Reynolds of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The first shingles were cut by hand from asphalt-saturated rolls covered with stone into 8 in x 16 in pieces. They quickly became popular and replaced wood shingles.
Nice one day job by our shingle crew!
